POSITION SUMMARY

As the Emergency Cash Project Coordinator, you will be a key leader in the coordination and management of cash assistance programs, playing a critical role in responding to humanitarian emergencies, particularly focusing on the Israel-Gaza emergency. Reporting directly to the Response Manager, you will oversee a team of Emergency Cash Coordinators and work collaboratively with internal departments, local partners, and stakeholders to ensure the effective and timely delivery of cash relief to affected populations.

This position offers an opportunity to lead and contribute significantly to the success of cash assistance programs, ensuring the organization's effective response to the complex humanitarian needs arising from the Israel-Gaza crisis.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

1. Program Strategy, Planning and Implementation:

  • Alongside Response Lead develop cash and voucher assistance strategy, budget and workplans for emergency cash-based interventions in line with the overall Israel Emergency Response strategy.
  • With support from Cash Coordinator implement cash programming in line with strategy, budget and workplans including supporting needs assessments, beneficiary identification and scoring, post distribution monitoring and market monitoring etc.
  • Sit on relevant working groups in Israel related to cash-based responses.
  • Along with Cash Coordinator mainstream protection throughout cash activity implementation
  • Coordinate with Global Technical Advisor to ensure alignment with global best practice.

2. Team Leadership and Coordination:

  • Manage and the Cash Coordinator , providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Foster a collaborative working environment and ensure effective communication.

3. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Alongside Cash Coordinators cultivate and maintain strong relationships partner organizations, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in internal coordination meetings and alongside Response Lead establish effective working relationships with HQ and donors as relevant

4. Budgeting and Financial Management:

  • Oversee the development and management of project budgets, ensuring accurate financial planning and adherence to donor requirements.
  • Work closely with the finance team and Response Manager to monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with financial guidelines.

5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:

  • Alongside MEAL staff and technical teams develop and implement cash monitoring tools to ensure project oversight and measure achievements.
  • Alongside MEAL staff and technical teams develop client feedback mechanisms to respond to changing needs
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the Response Manager, providing updates on program progress, challenges, and achievements.

6. Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks associated with cash interventions and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the safety and security of cash distributions, implementing measures to prevent fraud and protect beneficiaries.

7. Capacity Building:

  • Provide training and capacity-building support to Emergency Cash Coordinator and other staff involved in cash programming.
  • Alongside Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the cash assistance team.

8. Coordination and Integration:

  • Collaborate with other project managers and departments to ensure the seamless integration of cash interventions into the broader emergency response.
  • Participate in inter-agency coordination forums and contribute to the development of best practices and guidelines.

QUALIFACATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years in implementing and managing cash based programs in emergency response contexts.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (International Development, Business, Economics)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in supervising and supporting a diverse team.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial management, and donor reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Spoken and written capacity in English and Hebrew; knowledge of additional languages, is an asset.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and values.
