About the role
Mercy Food Services Rockhampton, which is part of the Mater Private Hospital currently has an exciting opportunity for a Food Services Assistant in a part-time position for 26 hours per week.
The hours will be worked Tuesday to Friday – weekend and night shifts are not required.

Salary Range: $22.86 - $25.98 (Hospitality & Services L1) per hour plus superannuation plus generous salary packaging of $15,900 per annum
What you'll be doing
- Ensure a high level of workplace cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to health regulations and the Food Safety Plan
- Assist in the texture modification process of our patient meal
- Perform washroom duties, ensuring all dishes, pots/pans etc., are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before use
- Complete Food Safety documentation as required
- Complete cleaning tasks as directed by the Head Chef
- Clean, sanitise and assemble cooking equipment as required
- Perform cryovac packaging and sealing, ensuring all trays are correctly packed and vacuum sealed as required
- Assist in the receipt of Goods arriving at the Food Service
- Remove and dispose of waste adhering to removal and disposal guidelines
About you
To be successful in your application you will have:
- Understanding of food safety principles and basic hygiene
- Previous experience in a comparable position
- An ability to achieve goals and objectives with minimal supervision
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Certificate in Occupational Hygiene
